Tiny Tin Dragonfly
The dragonfly in almost every part of the world symbolizes change, renewal and a growing sense of self realization. The dragonfly's colors are a result of reflecting the power of light. They remind us that we are made of light and we can reflect light in powerful ways if we choose to. The dragonfly gives us the ability to look beneath the surface, letting light in so that we are able to see things clearly in order to make our lives more beneficial. Old tin cans and other scraps of metal from businesses in the industrial area of Harare are turned into these delightful sculptures by these artists using snips, pliers, and hammers.
