Tabletop Basket Bowl Set - Black/ Grey/ White

Sale price$39.00
SKU: SWBFBS3-BWG

Clean lines, a soft graphic weave and a palette that goes with everything. This set of three basket bowls is handwoven by women weavers in Mekhe, Senegal, who wrap millet grass in black, grey and white. It’s a craft passed from mother to daughter for generations.

Nest them together as a coffee table centerpiece, or spread them around the house: the large for fruit, the medium for bread or rolls (line it with a napkin), and the small for keys, jewelry or remotes. The millet grass and plastic weave is sturdy enough for daily use, and the neutral colors work in modern, Scandinavian and boho rooms alike.

  • Set of 3:
    • Small: approx. 7.5" W x 2" H
    • Medium: approx. 9" W x 2.5" H
    • Large: approx. 12" W x 3.5" H
  • Material: millet grass and plastic
  • Artist: Deco Art, women weavers of Mekhe, Senegal
  • Made in: Senegal
  • Handmade: about 6 hours of weaving per set
  • Care: wipe clean with a dry cloth

Want more color? This set also comes in bright orange, turquoise and white.

Each basket is woven by hand, so colors, pattern and size will vary slightly.

" Weaving brings us together"

The master weavers of Mekhe, Senegal carry forward a generations-old basketry tradition passed from mother to daughter in rural communities just outside Dakar. Working in small cooperative groups, these skilled artisans create each basket entirely by hand, weaving together exceptional craftsmanship with deep cultural heritage. As mothers, sisters, and community leaders, their work helps sustain their families while preserving an enduring craft. We have had the privilege of building a relationship with these artisans for over six years, and their artistry continues to inspire us. Each basket is not only beautifully functional, but a meaningful piece of handcrafted art that brings the story of its maker into your home.
