Two sisters standing together, joined for life in the sacred bond that is sisterhood. This celebration of sisterly love is representation of the importance of family bonds in the Shona tribe, expressed beautifully in this piece This sculpture is made using traditional carving techniques, simple tools, and generations of experience and artistry in Zimbabwe. It is carved out of serpentine stone which is polished with sand and beeswax. The heat of fire is used to bring out the colors and textures in each piece upon completion.
