This uniquely beautiful stool was hand carved by the Tonga people of Zimbabwe. It was used as a portable stool, and bears the signs of a well-loved piece of portable furniture. Both functional as a seat, and collectible as a cultural artifact, this one of a kind stool brings a meaningful addition to any space.
Mbare founder, Robbie Stewart, purchased a group of Tonga stools in the Zambezi Valley in the early 1990s for his private collection. This stool is part of that group, of which he is now making a select few available to our customers.
